Basics of Clipping

The goal here is to help you understand the basics, get your accounts set up correctly, and start posting clips the right way before moving into more advanced strategies ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Heads up

This is the free version of the clipping guide and only includes around 10% of what is inside the paid Advanced Clipping Guide you get when you join the mentorship.

Step 1

โœ…Make Your 3 Main Accounts

Before anything, you need to make accounts on all 3 short-form platforms:

  • โœ“๐Ÿ“ฑ TikTok
  • โœ“๐Ÿ“ธ Instagram Reels
  • โœ“โ–ถ๏ธ YouTube Shorts

You should be posting your clips on all 3 platforms because the more places you post, the higher chance you have of getting views. And views are what help you grow, build pages, get attention, and eventually get paid ๐Ÿ’ฐ

The good thing is, you do not need to make 3 different edits. Just focus on making one really good TikTok-style clip, then post that same clip on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Your clip needs:

  • โœ“0 dead space
  • โœ“Strong hook in the first 2 seconds
  • โœ“Good pacing
  • โœ“A caption that makes people want to watch the full video
  • โœ“A clip that feels interesting from start to finish
Your goal is simple: make the viewer stop scrolling, watch longer, and stay until the end ๐Ÿ“ˆ
Step 2

๐Ÿ”ฅWarm Up Your Account

Before you start posting, you want to โ€œwarm upโ€ your account. This helps TikTok understand what type of content your page is about and who it should show your videos to.

Spend a few minutes doing this:

  • โœ“Follow accounts in your niche
  • โœ“Like videos in your niche
  • โœ“Comment on videos in your niche
  • โœ“Repost videos in your niche
  • โœ“Watch videos similar to what you want to post

Do this until your For You Page is no longer random and starts showing mostly videos from your niche. For example, if you are clipping streamers, your FYP should start showing streamer clips, fan pages, viral clips, and other clipping accounts ๐ŸŽฎ

โ€œOkay, this account is part of this niche. Let's test their videos with these viewers.โ€

Also, on all of your accounts, add something like this to your bio:

  • โœ“Fan Page, Not Impersonating
  • โœ“Fan Content Only
  • โœ“Not Impersonating Anyone

This helps protect your page from impersonation issues and makes it clear you are posting fan content, not pretending to be the creator.

Step 3

๐ŸŽฏChoose Your Niche

Now you need to choose what type of clips you are going to post.

In my opinion, the best money is in streamer clipping ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ’ฐ. Streamers create content every single day, their communities are active, and there are always funny, crazy, dramatic, or viral moments happening.

When starting out, keep your page focused on 1โ€“2 streamers max. Do not clip 10 different people on one page.

Why? Because if your page is random, TikTok does not know who to show your videos to. But if your page is built around 1โ€“2 streamers, TikTok can start learning exactly what audience likes your content ๐Ÿ“ˆ

When choosing streamers, pick people you actually enjoy watching.

  • โœ“Their community
  • โœ“Their inside jokes
  • โœ“Their lore
  • โœ“Their funniest moments
  • โœ“What their viewers actually like
  • โœ“What type of clips usually go viral

You should also go on TikTok and search up the streamers you want to clip. Study the top clipping pages and look at:

  • โœ“๐Ÿ” Their captions
  • โœ“๐ŸŽต Their sounds
  • โœ“โœ‚๏ธ Their editing style
  • โœ“๐Ÿ‘€ Their hooks
  • โœ“๐Ÿ“ฑ Their layout
  • โœ“๐Ÿ”ฅ What type of clips go viral

You need to always study top clippers. If 100 clippers are using a certain style and it is working, why would you completely change it? Study what works, copy the structure, and then make it your own. Do not try to reinvent the wheel when the blueprint is already in front of you ๐Ÿš€

Step 4

โš ๏ธStay Original & Avoid Violations

The clipping space is very competitive. If you are a small account, you need to find ways to stand out.

A big reason your clips may only get 0โ€“300 views is because 100 other people already clipped the exact same moment before you. TikTok does not want to push the same exact clip over and over again.

So your goal is to make your clip feel fresh, original, and better than the others:

  • โœ“Be fast โ€” try to post the moment before everyone else
  • โœ“Do not steal other people's clips
  • โœ“Do not copy someone's caption word-for-word
  • โœ“Remove all dead space
  • โœ“Add context before and after the viral moment
  • โœ“Make the clip visually appealing
  • โœ“Use zooms, cuts, filters, captions, and clean pacing
  • โœ“Look for random funny moments other clippers missed

Going viral is actually pretty simple when you understand it: if your average watch time is high, TikTok is more likely to push your video. That is why removing dead space is so important. Every second needs to matter.

Do not just post a random 15-second moment with no setup. Add context so the viewer understands what is happening. Sometimes the setup before the viral moment is what makes the clip way better.

Your goal is to make TikTok see your video as:

  • โœ“๐Ÿ”ฅ Original
  • โœ“๐Ÿ”ฅ Fresh
  • โœ“๐Ÿ”ฅ Entertaining
  • โœ“๐Ÿ”ฅ Different from the other 100 clips

Not just another lazy repost.

Step 5

๐Ÿ“ˆDo Not Quit Early

When you first start posting, your first 20โ€“30 clips might feel random. Some videos might get no views. Some might randomly pop off. Some might stop at 200 views. Some might hit thousands. This is normal.

TikTok is testing your account and trying to figure out who should see your videos. Do not get upset and quit just because your first few clips do not go viral. Some clippers have been doing this since 2019. You are not going to master it in one day.

The key is to keep posting, keep improving, and keep learning what works.

Make sure every clip has:

  • โœ“A strong hook in the first 2 seconds
  • โœ“No dead space
  • โœ“A clean caption
  • โœ“Good pacing
  • โœ“A visually appealing layout
  • โœ“A reason for the viewer to keep watching

Also, do not burn yourself out. Posting a lot can help, but only if the videos are actually good. It is way better to post 10โ€“30 really good clips than to post 100 rushed mid clips.

Quality matters. Volume helps, but only when the clips are strong enough to actually keep people watching.
Step 6

๐ŸคTalk To Other Clippers

One of the biggest benefits of being in a community like this is being around other clippers. There is no point trying to figure everything out by yourself when you can learn from people doing the same thing.

The clipping industry is always changing. What worked last month might not work this month. That is why you need to communicate with other clippers and stay updated on what is working right now ๐Ÿ“ฒ

You can:

  • โœ“Ask questions
  • โœ“Get feedback on your page
  • โœ“Study each other's accounts
  • โœ“Share what is working
  • โœ“Learn new strategies
  • โœ“Avoid mistakes other people already made
  • โœ“Grow faster together

Clipping is way easier when you are surrounded by people who are also trying to win. You do not need to figure everything out alone.
